7th of June 2021
Pulman Arena, 90 Walters Road, Takanini, Auckland
Due to our limited numbers at the venue and being our 50th Anniversary, each church is only allowed to register one of every type of team (mens/mixed/womens) this year. Regardless of grade, a church may only register up to one mens, one mixed and one womens team. Any church that attempts to register more than this, won’t be accepted. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for your church.
Please note that we need a clear photo of the players’ face for their ID. Passport or Driver’s License photos aren’t acceptable, and we won’t be able to confirm a player’s registration until this is complete.
50 Years Celebration Dinner
This year we celebrate 50 years of our annual Basketball Tournament. We invite all former and current friends of this tournament to join us for a weekend filled with worship and memories. Fellowship dinner is planned for Sunday night.
Age Limit: A player must be 16 years or older. All of the SDA Sports Tournaments have an age limit of 16+ for players. This is due to concerns of safety, fairness and legal requirements for duty of care for children playing at this level of competition. Thank you for taking note of this age limit and protecting the standard of our Tournaments. If a team is found to have used an under-16 player, they will forfeit that game and the breech will be reported back to your Church Pastor and/or Youth Leader, which may result in suspensions of future tournaments.
NNZC SDA Discipleship Tournaments – 4 His Glory
Be part of the Sporting Legacy of the SDA Church
The 4 annual Sports Tournaments run by the North NZ Conference have a long and rich legacy of discipleship. They provide a forum for young people to show excellence, have fun, make connections, and shine for God’s Glory. We love seeing the churches use this time by mentoring and encouraging their young people to be better connected to God and grow as disciples of Jesus. This happens during training, transport, games, fellowship, meals, team worships, and the extreme pressure that comes with playing sport. We also aim to provide opportunities for Adventist young people to grow healthy Christian relationships with each other and to celebrate being a valuable part of our church. The Conference will continue to organise the safest, fairest and best planned Tournaments to ensure these objectives are met.
Our dream is that every young person becomes a disciple of Jesus who:
- Knows Jesus
- Accepts Jesus
- Follows Jesus
- Serves Jesus
- Shares Jesus
Our prayer for each team is that they use their time together wisely to connect, grow, reach out, have fun, and learn how to glorify Christ in every area of their lives.
We are working hard to run our events safely especially when it comes to Covid-19. To help us do this we ask that you take note of the following:
- Should you have any cold or flu-like symptoms please do not attend.
- Conference staff reserve the right to ask any person with cold or flu-like symptoms to leave the event.
- Please use recommended hygiene practices of hand-washing, sanitising items of high touch, maintaining physical distance (where possible) and using the NZ COVID Tracer app.
- If NZ is not in Level 1, we will not be able to run the event. A full refund will be made to registered attendees.
