Information
Join us for the New Zealand-wide Pathfinder Camporee happening from December 28, 2025, to January 2, 2026! This is an incredible opportunity for Pathfinders and leaders from across the nation to unite in fellowship and growth. The theme, “About Turn,” delves into the transformative journey of Paul, highlighting his radical change on the road to Damascus when he encountered Jesus. This profound experience ignited his passion to become a dedicated disciple.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Tui Ridge Park, this camporee promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with engaging games and challenging activities designed to inspire and uplift. Accommodation
Please be advised that cabins and dormitories will not be available during this Camporee. We ask all Pathfinder clubs to come fully prepared with their own tents and camping gear. This Camporee is designed to embrace the spirit of camping, and with summer upon us, our Pathfinders are more than capable of taking on this adventure independently. Let’s make the most of this opportunity to connect with nature and foster teamwork!
Directions & Parking
Tui Ridge Park is located at 260 Anderson Road, Hamurana, 3072. It is a two-hour drive from Auckland via the new expressway and is situated 20 kilometres north of Rotorua.
At Tui Ridge Park, the speed limits are 30 km/h from the gatehouse to the rise before the GMC building, and 10 km/h within the camp area.
Car and bus parking areas will be clearly marked on or adjacent to the Camporee site, and these areas will be patrolled. Families attending the Camporee with a caravan or car are allowed to leave their vehicles in the official parking lot; however, these vehicles should not be used for accommodation during the Camporee.
Rubbish Disposal
Bins are located at central points around the campground and are cleared daily by Tui Ridge Park staff. Separate bins are designated for food waste only; please place only food items in these bins. Use the other bins for paper, plastic, glass, and tins.
Additionally, there are skip bins at each Ablution Block for non-perishable items (paper, plastic, etc.). Campers are required to supply their own rubbish bags.
Telephones
Tui Ridge Park has limited cell phone coverage, so please inform family and friends that you may be difficult to contact in an emergency. Urgent emergency calls can be made to Tui Ridge Park at 07 332 3510. Any messages will be relayed as time permits.
Weather
The weather at Tui Ridge Park can be unpredictable. We have experienced extremely hot conditions as well as very wet and cold weather. Please come prepared for all types of weather by bringing gumboots, rain jackets, warm clothing, summer clothing, and hats.
Closed Event
The Camporee is a closed event. Only those who have registered and paid for attendance will be permitted on site during the Camporee. No one will be allowed to leave the Camporee site except in the case of a medical emergency. This policy is in place for your safety and to maintain the special atmosphere of the Camporee. Security Officers will enforce this rule to ensure the smooth running of the event and your safety. Clubs should plan ahead to be self-sufficient for all their needs during the Camporee, as the site is located in a rural area with no nearby facilities.
Off-Site Camping
Camporee is all about COMMUNITY. This will be a CLOSED camp, meaning that participants will not have the option to leave or enter without a valid reason. To foster a strong sense of community and create a positive atmosphere at Camporee, we have decided not to permit off-site camping for this event.
Water Supply
All water taps can be used for drinking and cooking unless otherwise marked. There is no need to treat the water.
Facilities
Three Ablution Blocks are available, providing toilets, showers, and kitchen facilities. Two of these blocks also include laundry facilities.
AdSafe & Police Vetting
Anyone over 18 years of age attending Camporee must meet the AdSafe requirements. Refer to your application form for details. Applicants not meeting these requirements will not be allowed to attend.
Age Limits
The minimum age for attendees in the Pathfinder Club is 10 years old. Pathfinders are eligible to attend if they turn 10 by the first day of the Camporee. Children younger than 10 are not allowed at the Camporee, so please make alternative arrangements for their care. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Electronic Devices
Please note that there is no access to electricity during the Camporee, so recharging devices will not be possible. If you choose to bring electronic devices such as iPads, tablets, laptops, or mobile phones, it is at your own risk. Additionally, the campsite has limited mobile reception and internet access.
