Ellen G. White states, “The Lord has appointed the youth to be his helping hand.”—Testimonies for the Church 7:64. MYP 7.2 “With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world!”—“Education,” page 271. MYP 7.3. These inspiring words have motivated the Garden City Central Church to give priority to our young people. On June 17, 2017, six young people chose to give their lives to the Lord, and they accepted the challenge to be discipled by Him. Young people requested to be baptised at the South New Brighten Beach. However, a week before the Baptism everyone was a bit worried about the freezing water, and they were all engaged in prayer and requested God to give a bright sunny day. God did answer the prayer and blessed the baptismal candidates with the most beautiful day ever. The baptismal service started at 3:30 pm and the attendance of parents, friends, and relatives made the occasion even more special. We began the service at the church, and then everyone drove to the beach for the baptismal service. At the beach, the baptismal candidates were welcomed by the heart grabbing backdrop of the sunset and the melodious sound of the waves lapping against the shore. They all walked into the freezing water with their hearts filled with the warmth of God’s love. One by one they all got baptised and were washed by the waves of God’s grace. We request you to keep these young people in your prayers and offer them support whenever you see them. Thanks.

We have had a busy, blessed month or two at Bishopdale church, and we know the angels are rejoicing as much as we are. A few weeks ago, we were thrilled to welcome Pauline and Kevin Carter into fellowship through Profession of Faith. Nina Gryniv (90yrs) and Mikhail Gryniv (88yrs) from our Russian congregation, were baptised the following week, then two of our young people, Pearl Pearce and Daniel Sikuri were baptised June 10th. We are so excited to officially welcome these beautiful people into our church family, so proud of their public stand, and pray that God will continue to bless them on their journey.
