Altogether lovely? Exploring intergenerational worship

90 minutes, half day, whole day

If we want our children and young people to enjoy church and to choose to follow Jesus and become Seventh-day Adventists, we need to include them in our church worships from a young age, in ways that nurture their spiritual thinking and development.

This seminar will help you to:

  • Understand the importance of intergenerational worship that actively includes people of all ages.
  • Understand the theological basis for intergenerational worship.
  • Think creatively about different ways to worship together.
  • Learn how to guide your church on a journey towards intergenerational worship.
  • Develop an intergenerational worship outline.
  • Gather useful tools for intergenerational worship.

Presenter: Karen Holford

Family Ministries Director – Trans-European Division

Karen Holford first trained as an occupational therapist, and worked in a rehabilitation centre for people with acquired brain injuries and memory problems. She attending Andrews University where she completed an MA in educational and developmental psychology.

Karen also has an MSc in Systemic Psychotherapy (family therapy) and she has recently worked as a family therapist for several charities in Scotland, as well as training and supervising students in the foundation year of family therapy training.

Karen has written hundreds of articles, mostly about relationships for Adventist publications. She has also written about 20 books for adults and children, focusing mainly on relationships and family spirituality. She has been married to Bernie for more than 30 years. They have 3 adult children and 3 young grandchildren.
