East Auckland Seventh-day Adventist church was filled on Sabbath afternoon, December 14, as church members, family, friends and colleagues gathered to celebrate Ben Reynolds’ ordination to pastoral ministry.

Pastor Reynolds has ministered to the East Auckland congregation and served as Chaplain at the Balmoral SDA School for the past six years. He married Jess soon after he began ministry and a year ago, they were blessed with their first child, Sarah, who also was dedicated on Sabbath morning.

“One of the things I’m most thankful for was being born into a Christian home.” Shares Pr. Reynolds, “from as far back as I can remember, I have always been aware of God’s presence. Through a series of events in my mid-teens all of the things I knew about Jesus and about the Bible started to take on new meaning and significance. It all became more real. My heart was changed, and I decided to declare my love for Jesus through baptism. “

Following a growing conviction to enter the gospel ministry, Pr. Reynolds commenced ministry and theological studies at Avondale College and graduated with first class honours in 2013.

Representing East Auckland Church, Elder Christine Miles said, “Our Church Mission Statement is Reflecting God’s Love, Advancing His Kingdom, and that is a best-summary of Pr. Reynolds, “He’s a man who wants to reflect God’s love, a man who wants to advance God’s kingdom.” Leading out in the ordination service was; Pr. Eddie Tupa’I President New Zealand Pacific Union Conference, Pr. Ben Timothy President North New Zealand Conference, Mr. Graeme Drinkall Secretary-Treasurer NZPUC and Pr. Hugh Heenan Conference Secretary NNZC.
