Volleyball Weekend – Cancelled
15 September 2020
As we gradually descend in alert levels, we won’t have enough concrete time to prepare for the special weekend of connection and worship. We also want our young people to have enough time to adjust their plans. So, we have prayerfully decided to cancel the Youth Rally & Volleyball Tournament and encourage youth groups to plan their own worship or sports gatherings in their region. Pr Willie Iererua is available to support these if any youth leaders would like to reach out.

Our Future in His Hands
5 June 2020
This is a free 40-week online course that will enable you to delve into prophecy for yourself.
An in-depth study of the Book of Revelation from the perspective of its structure and the relationship of its various parts to each other, this course will equip you with the tools to understand the text of Revelation. Each topic in this series is designed to lay foundations for the topics that follow. Through the series the meaning of Revelation will be progressively revealed.
To gain the maximum benefit from these studies, each participant will need to set aside some time during the week to reinforce the weekly study by spending time in the Word. Those who are faithful in doing this will finish the course with a deep understanding of the text itself, which will give confidence in explaining the messages of Revelation with others.
The course has now begun. You are free to join the course and start from the beginning at any time, and share it with your friends and family.
Spirit of Prophecy and Adventist Heritage Sabbath
8 September 2020
17 October 2020
The Seventh-day Adventist Church was born after the Great Disappointment of October 22, 1844. On that day, we remember our roots and the heritage that the pioneers of the movement we belong to left us.
Each year on a Sabbath closest to October 22, Seventh-day Adventist churches all around the world celebrate the Adventist Heritage Sabbath. This day is a time to draw closer to Jesus and connect with our spiritual roots as Seventh-day Adventists. Churches also use this day as an opportunity to see how God has led in the past and apply in their lives the lessons learned. It is also an opportunity to fellowship together.
You can access material and resources for the Adventist Heritage Sabbath at ellenwhite.org.
Also, check out the Lineage Journey videos. Lineage is a multi-faceted educational tool designed to help you understand your spiritual heritage and explore the links between the past, present and future. www.lineagejourney.com
You watch and share the “Tell the world” movie. The movie shares the compelling story of a small group of farmers from the northeast region of the United States who would go on to set the foundation of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

North Island: COVID-19 and Church Buildings (Level 2 & Level 1)
22 September 2020
22 September 2020
With yesterday’s government announcement that Auckland is now at alert level 2 and the rest of the country at alert level 1, Auckland church buildings may re-open from Thursday 24th September with an attendance limit of 100. There are no attendance limits outside of the Auckland region.
All local churches throughout the Conference will need to continue to follow Ministry of Health requirements as directed by your church leadership, inclusive of good hygiene, physical distancing and registering your attendance through the use of the NZ COVID Tracer App or by completing a physical register. If you have any cold or flu symptoms please worship from home instead.
Additionally, where it is simply not possible to maintain physical distancing within church gatherings, we ask that a protective face mask be worn. Examples of where this is necessary are inclusive of tightly confined spaces, footwashing and baptisms (for the one conducting the baptism as the baptismal candidate’s face will be wet when immersed).
For those unable to physically attend church there are some home church options listed below or your local church may have another option in place for you, such as small groups.
Let us work together and play a role in reducing the risk of COVID-19 as part of bringing hope and healing to New Zealand.
Alert Level 1 is not Alert Level 0
We need all New Zealanders to remain vigilant and do the actions we have all got so good at:
- Stay home if you are sick. Call Healthline or your doctor for advice on getting tested. Get tested if you are asked.
- If you have cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not travel. Stay home.
- Only Aucklanders and those travelling into, out of or through Auckland are still required to wear a face covering on public transport, but others outside of Auckland are encouraged to do so. Wherever you are, face coverings are encouraged where physical distancing is difficult.
- Wash and dry your hands regularly. Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
- Keep track of your movements, using the NZ COVID Tracer app, if you can. We need everyone to do this at all Alert Levels, not just if there are cases in your area. This is because when a case appears, we need to trace their movements for up to two weeks prior.
Businesses must continue to display QR codes. We ask that churches do likewise.
