The baptism of young people is always an exciting event and a real blessing for a church. Shardae and Riana decided to be baptised in public, in the ocean, which was wonderful to see. They also wanted to let the church know how important their local membership was and so gave their statement of faith in Papanui Church during the morning worship service. Here is what Riana shared with her church family before the Baptism celebrations.
“Hey guys so when I was asked to share my favourite verse I first thought of Gen 1:1 – Rev 22:21. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth… so on and so forth. But I’m pretty sure I don’t have the time to share the entire bible so I will share what I believe to be the summary of the Bible. The shortest verse. Now, most of you know this to be John 11:35 “Jesus wept”, but there are actually two shortest bible verses John 11:35 and Thessalonians 5:16 which states “rejoice always”. I feel that these verses are important because God wouldn’t have made them to be the shortest verses for nothing!
There was a reason behind this and i think it’s because he wanted to show us that even through the toughest times when you think all is lost and are weeping you can always rely on God to help you rejoice.
Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always and again i say rejoice.” Thank you.”
We look forward to see these two wonderful young ladies continue to serve and share their faith in Jesus.
